Background
Barney was in a government shelter in Turkey. We were able to save him alongside 5 other Goldens before they were put to sleep. We organised for him to be taken to our safe boarding facility where we have prepped him to travel to the UK.
About
During his time in our boarding facility in Turkey, Barney has been described as being quite a calm and gentle-natured dog. He is happiest in the company of people or enjoying a lovely walk.
After a run around, he is the Golden who is found lying down or rolling around with a huge smile on his face.
Barney gets on very well with other dogs and he is extremely loving with people.
He is currently living with the other 5 Golden Retrievers that he was rescued with. He hasn’t shown any guarding behaviours around other dogs and toys/food.
Ideal adopter and home
Barney’s ideal home will be either as an only dog or with a dog of similar energy levels and temperament. He would love a garden to lounge around in and proximity to green spaces for walks.
He would make a good dog for either a first-time adopter or a more experienced adopter.
Ideally his adopter will be able to work from home so that he is not left alone for long periods of time.
